What is the Student Council?

The Student Council at UIA International School of Tokyo is a representative body that plays a vital role in fostering a vibrant and inclusive school community. It serves as a platform for student representation, empowerment, and the pursuit of positive change. The Student Council provides students with the opportunity to actively participate in decision-making processes, advocate for the needs and interests of their peers, and contribute to the overall well-being of the school community.

Mission

The mission of the Student Council is to empower students to actively engage in shaping a school community that values inclusivity, collaboration, and positive growth. Through effective representation, the Student Council strives to create an environment where every student feels heard, supported, and inspired.

Vision

Our vision is to cultivate a school community where students are not just passive participants but active contributors to their educational journey. We aspire to foster an atmosphere that encourages curiosity, creativity, and mutual respect, ultimately preparing students for success in both their academic and personal endeavors. The Student Council envisions a school where every voice matters and where positive change is a collective effort, shaping a future of unity, achievement, and shared accomplishments.

Revanth Sainath Killamsetty

President Grade 12
The President guides the Student Council, gathering ideas from students and implementing them. They lead the team, encouraging creativity and time management. Key responsibilities include conducting meetings, coordinating work, assisting members, maintaining positivity, participating in activities, and fostering good relationships with officers.

Devjeeth Vinod

Vice President Grade 12
The role of the vice president is to be the right hand of the president, and their role goes hand in hand with the President. They take the role of the president when he or she is absent. Along with this, the vice president is also in charge of helping in handling the committees as well as helping in making the meeting agendas.


Akanksa Ganesh

Secretary Grade 12
The Student Council Secretary is responsible for keeping accurate records of all meetings and activities. This includes taking meeting minutes, recording attendance, and documenting decisions made by the council. The secretary manages official documents, maintains organized files, and helps prepare agendas and announcements.

William Ito

Treasurer Grade 11
The role of the treasurer is to keep in track of the financial transactions and budgets of the council. This includes having to find suitable sources of finance as well as input their opinion on how to use the money wisely and effectively.

Emily Bailey

Communications Officer Grade 12
The role of the communications officer is to be in charge of the social media and marketing communications handled by the student council. They are in charge of communicating the events and ideas of the student council via videos and flyers.
